Some programs put strange stuff into files whose names have a .plist extension.
Some programs put strange stuff into files whose names have a .rsrc extension.

While that may be bad practice on the part of such programs, PSE wasn't giving you any problem until DW "fixed" it.

Alsoft probably added that feature just to ward off the 'one trick pony' label on DW.
And this isn't the first time i've heard of things going wrong with it.
