I Ergo: First time back out of folder to Desktop and SNAP; successive times out, normal behavior.
This occurs in my user account and in test account; therefore a system-wide issue.
It's a bug.
We can't fix that.

[seriously, there is a similar issue when first opening a window after login (its size and location isn't right under certain conditions.... close and reopen, and it's back where it should be). OSX isn't perfect... but it's
so much better than OS9 in
so many ways, that
no amount of whining can change that.]
