My initial post essentially described my trying to follow Word Help's instructions.

OK, so exactly
which Library are you checking (or trying to find)? The one at the root level of your hard disk (/Library), the one in in the System folder there (/System/Library), the one in your Home folder (~/Library), or yet another one (I don't know if Office 2011 sports one)?
