Of course, this means added time, effort and money for you if you ever need proof of payment for products or services you paid for by check.

Not really... I can view and print the front and back of any check I write from my Chase on-line account.

I think there's some sort of time window, though, so documenting purchases, etc. on the spot is a wise idea.
