Well, you're right -- as I found out this morning. I used the latest CCC to clone Lion to a partition on my external APM firewire. I could boot that partition.

The Recovery Partition is not copied. But so what if you've got a clone to copy back to the parent machine. And if you "really" want the Recovery Partition on the parent machine, you can reinstall the latest Lion there.

CCC is rather impressive. (I've never used it.) I have only 29 gigs on my Intel machine but CCC copied them in 15 minutes! And if I do the same clone in a week, CCC will copy just the new stuff. I'm going to have to give Mike B some money.
