Using DU, I used to clone Snow Leopard on my intel iMac to a partition on my external APM formatted firewire drive. I also cloned Leopard from my PPC iMac to another partition on that drive. In both cases, I could restore from the firewire drive to the parent computer using DU.

I've got a third partition on the firewire waiting to take Lion. With Lion, "ought" the cloning and restoring to behave as before -- that is, given that I'm again using the APM formatted firewire drive? (I've googled but can't get confirmation from any using an APM external drive.)

I understand that with Lion I have to do the cloning and the restoring by going first to the new recovery "partition" in Lion (by holding down command-r). That's to be expected.

By the way, those using a GUID external drive report that while DU clones the recovery "partition", CCC and Super Duper don't.
