How are you trying to burn the disk? I have always used a version of Toast rather than Apple's method. To be sure that you are doing this correctly, read Burning a CD or DVD and review your procedure in case you did something wrong.

The statement about Journier being moved makes no sense because you aren't moving it, just creating an alias. confused

EDIT: A thought: I don't know if it makes a difference but be sure that Journier is quit when you do this.
