As I said, kevs, Butler saves as many items in the clipboard as you tell it to save (If there's a limit, I don't know what it is.), even across restarts if you so opt.
The only way of which I'm aware to get something out of your clipboard is to either restart without selecting the above-mentioned option or consciously delete it.
You can delete or paste any item, not just the top one.
Here's an example, and if you use "Custom pasteboards," to hot key in "touching base," for example, they don't impact the clipboard at all.
