I've taken Virtual 1's lead, and I back up my passwords, both AutoFill and non, in an encrypted/password protected disk image.
Why don't you use Firefox's "Remember passwords for sites" functionality? (Its master password functionality seems to me to be little more than an emulation of OS X's Keychain Access functionality.)

Which is, more or less, no different than what happens in OS X if your keychain password is discovered.
