This pops up on my desktop.. little box to force quit, finder then do that and it come up again.

Does this make sense for someone how has a brand new mac mini? thanks.

A little research turns up several options to "fix" the error until there is an update Monterey and I think it safe to assume you are well beyond that. The best article I found is this one from How To Geek

Thanks Joe, I just did a reboot and seem to be ok. Never seen this, or have been decade. I guess my question: is this surprising being I have a brand new mac mini with apple HD of 400GB free space?

I have not seen it either, but from what I read it is referring to memory and has nothing t do with your free disk space. The cause has been variously attrited to…

1. A glitch in the OS
2. An old app uses it own memory management
3. An app with a severe memory leak
4. An instance of Murphy's Law
5. And the one I am partial to: "I dunno??" delivered with a shrug of the shoulders
