Managing Safari bookmarks in iOS is, in my opinion, a genuine PITA. If you have your bookmarks organized into a folder, you can delete the entire folder. Personally I have the bookmarks on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad synchronized with iCloud, so I can do most of the managment of bookmarks on my Mac and it is replicated on all of my devices.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
