Os 10.6.8 Yesterday I downloaded a couple of movies which usually go straight into iskysoft imedia converter deluxe. However, after clicking on download, a window appeared asking if I should allow the movie go into the iskysoft app.

I know there is a newer version but after installing it, the results were the same.
I later trashed it because I don't care for the changes.

This has never happened before and in the iskysoft prefs, I couldn't find any way of removing it. This also happens in El Capitan. Any ideas anyone?

I've never seen a popup asking me if a document should "go to" the default application. Can you show us this dialog?

Sorry for the delay. That popup doesn't always occur and I'm wondering if the source of the download has any influence. It did popup up yesterday but I clicked it before I remembered your reply.
