I was double clicking to highlight an address in my address bar and all of a sudden it disappeared!! I looked on the View Tab and there was nothing to help me there. What do I do? I couldn't even look up Google to search for help because the window is gone!! Thanks. Rita

Long story short, I went back into View and dragged the address bar/Google bar back onto toolbar and it opened!! Whew!!!

In Safari's View menu, you should see either Show Toolbar or Hide Toolbar. If you see the former, choose that command to restore the address field/Google search field to its expected place. If you see the latter—meaning the address field/Google search field "should" be showing—try choosing the Customize Toolbar... command from the same menu, and dragging the address field/Google search field up into its normal location.

Long story short, I went back into View and dragged the address bar/Google bar back onto toolbar and it opened!!! You did what? In the View Menu, you can select from the options, but you cannot drag them anywhere.

I think Rita meant "I went back into [the] View [menu's Customize Toolbar mode] and dragged the address bar/Google bar back onto toolbar and it opened!!!" The omission of the bracketed portions is what made the long story short.

That's exactly what I meant. I accidentally left out the step about the custom toolbar. Sorry. That wouldn't have helped anyone trying to do what I did. Better to be precise.
