dianne (I think it was she, anyhow) once posted a link to a compilation of allowable UBB tags, but I can't locate either the post or a way to access the applicable page.

Will somebody please point me in the right direction?

For the benefit of others who might be looking for it, the list you were looking for is found in the FAQ (note the link in the button bar at the top of these forum pages) under the heading 'What UBBCode can I use in my posts?'

Occasionally some additional info is provided in threads delving into one or the other issue around UBB markup. A recent example is the thread Trouble with list tag.
