Lately, I have been inundated with spam and setting Rules has not helped. I finally seemed to have solved the problem after I realized that most of the sender's emails ended with .de Consequently, I set up a rule to delete any email that contains .de in the From field, and it seems to be working. I assume that de refers to Germany (Deutschland). I have also received emails ending in .es which I assume is Estonia.

You are right. es is Spain. As it turns out, Estonia is ee.

I was having the same issue some time ago. I was also writing rules for the 'de', and many other 2 letter country designations. I looked at the 'full headers' and went to a site that shows the IP addresses where the emails originated. Turns out they were all from my ISP, Comcast, and all from 4 cities in the USA. Began sending all the full headers to my ISP abuse site and the SPAM has slowed to a trickle from over 100 per day.

Despite your success, in reality almost anything in the email header can be [i]spoofed[i]. The only thing that can be said with any degree of confidence is the odds favor its origin being somewhere on the planet earth. frown
