Any one there?

It feels like entering a lonely forest, before others have arrived. This new forum, given its origins at MFIF, will be interesting to watch as activity begins. Again, as I did over at MFIF earlier today, a tip of the hat to all that have been instrumental in creating this new forum. Cheers.

As seen by my other posts, I'm here as well. Yay!
Anywhere we can see the member count here so we can kind of compare how many from MFI move over here?

I'm here too. Kudos to Tacit for getting the 'look and feel' so perfect. And thanks to everyone involved for getting this off to such a great start. Is "Onward and Upward" appropriate in the ethernet?

It's great to see the site up and running! The interface seems to be even better than the old MFIF. I also send kudos to Tacit for all his hard work and to dkmarsh for his efforts in setting up the blog and being a catalyst.

It's kind of a strange feeling to start from scratch but definitely worth it! Thanks everybody (Tacit and DK especially) and let's continue along the same old lines!

Nice to see you again, Alex. It took me a moment to realize that you changed your screen name.

and Jon, you possible don't remember me, I go back to the days, 02 I guess, DocBud, zoomrunner, cracko, hundreds of cat threads and Uphill (what ever happened to him? ), muddywatters, etc. I just "loitered" once in a while at MFI, till the end - so, there at the beginning all the way to the end . . .

A big thanks to all who were involved in making this site possible, particularly in such short time. I'm thoroughly impressed! On behalf of all the moderators, each of whom was fully engaged in the effort to complete the turnaround from MFIF to FTM in five short days—including MacManiac, who made spectacularly efficient use of limited online time from arid lands abroad—you're very welcome! To tacit, beyond the server space and technical support, we owe the debt any breakaway group owes to the one who first challenges it to take control of its own future. And to cyn we owe thanks for turning a blank slate into a full set of forums literally overnight—a feat which could only have been accomplished by someone who's been paying attention to every detail for the many months she's been a forums admin.

This is awesome! The site looks great! Hats off to all involved! Sorry about jumping the gun and being over zealous with the opening of the registration. Can't wait to get started in a new home.

I also want to add my thanks for keeping the MFIF spirit alive!!!
Other than us old timers who have come on over, how are we bringing fresh citizens over? The old board had the traffic from the once-great MFI to keep the forums active. AFAICT, we don't have a news site or blog to drive search traffic.

Many thanks to all of you who were involved in the formation of FTM, tacit in particular, of course, for the incredible feat you've pulled off! It is simply staggering to think that in less than a week we've gone from being unhappy exiles to smiling expatriates. Yeah, there're glitches, and there'll be issues, but, *WOW*, you guys have so-far exceeded my wildest dreams. (Thanks are also due tacit for his having volunteered server space, bandwidth, technical expertise, etc.) Edit: By the way... Your "Welcome to Fine Tuned Mac!" post includes the only instance I've so far seen of FTM being spelled F T M?
