I have quite a few PDFs that require 'joining', so I looked on-line for a service and found this one at Adobe. It works extremely well but, when I reached a limit, I was asked to open a free account and was offered options of how to start. One of them was Apple.Since it was Adobe, I wasn't too concerned and I started the process thinking I would also create a new password.

However, I was asked for my Apple ID to use as a password (which made me a bit nervous) but I proceeded anyway, thinking I'd have the option of using something else. Lo and behold, an Apple ID box popped up with a password already entered - as a series of black dots. Not sure why Adobe would have access to my Apple ID, I backed up the process until I could get some advice.

Do I have a concern or would this be a process that has Apple protections?

I wonder if it has something to do with iCloud?

It sounds like you opted to sign in with your Apple ID. This is a somewhat new option and Apple says it is completely secure and private.

On a Mac since 1984.
