Flash drive question

I just bought a new flash drive which I'd like to partition, but Disk Utility tells me that it can't be partitioned because it's got a Master Boot Drive. (It came formatted exFAT...since formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).)

I've found instructions for deleting the MBR via Terminal, but before I do so I'd like to be satisfied that it won't harm the drive.

Is it OK to do the deed?

Thanks.

No problem!

I was able to get rid of the MBR and format the drive for APFS in Disk Utility...no issues.
