Unless I'm mistaken, it's been posted here that Apple's preferred method for deleting App Store apps is to select them in Launchpad and delete the from there.

Well, that may have been too obscure for many users, because when I went to delete an app the other day, the Apple instructions I found were to drag it to the trash.

Which, as with 3rd party apps, left a bunch of stuff to delete with EasyFind.

I have always used the launchpad method with good success.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

Just searched and found that Apple suggests both methods: How to uninstall apps on your Mac - Apple Support

I doubt, though, that the Launchpad method does any better a job of deleting ancillary files than dragging to trash does.
