OS 10.14.6
I'm thinking of installing the Honey app but I read that it could be a security issue.
Is this app recommended?

If you look at their App Store listing and scroll down to App Privacy it would appear that just about everything short of the color of you underwear you have on this morning is linked to you along with your specific identifier. if you have regard for security Honey would appear to be an app to avoid.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

A similar app that I have used for years with no apparent or strange intrusions is Rakuten. Check it out in the App Store.
On a Mac since 1984. Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

So not quite as bad as Honey.
