iphone problem remembering user/pass

I notice on Chrome, with iphone it does not remember store user / pass as my desktop does. Any tips on this? Thanks.

On a Mac since 1984. Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

Ira, thanks, still baffled. ON desktop, a nice little box comes up asking if I'd like to save the user / pass I just created. I'm very used to that. With Chrome is that supposed to come up also? I never see this come up.

In the link I provided above it says this: Start or stop saving passwords By default, Chrome offers to save your password. You can turn this option off or on at any time.
On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app Chrome. At the bottom right, tap More More. Tap Settings Settings and then Passwords. Turn Save Passwords on or off. Does that do it? I don't use Chrome, but the above seems to imply that the saving is automatic when turned "on". You may not see the dialog box like you do on the Mac version.
