Used to be that your library, name, users Library would just show up on your cloned backup hardrive. Important when need to dig into mobile documents and more.
But alas Catalina now not showing up. The option trick is worthless as that just helps with your main Mac HD, ,not clone one. Thanks.

Set your internal drive to always show the user Library by following the directions in How to Always Show Library Folder in MacOS Catalina User Home Directory, and then update the clone.

After you "Always Show Library Folder" in Finder/View/Show View Options, you can drag the icon to the sidebar for quick (shortcut) access later . . . and then "re-hide" the Library folder in Home if you don't want to see it there, for whatever reason.

Jon, thanks the view Library is nice new feature for primary one. Though interestingly not offered on clone! So still stuck.
MG, can't do that idea: already doing it for primary! (and don't want a confusing clone library on the side.. anyway, still can't find library on clone to do it anyway)
Still stuck.

Finder View Options appear in two different formats, depending on where you are. As Jon's link above says, you must be in your User Home folder for the View Options to show the Library check box. If you go to View>Show View Options from the Desktop, all you get are Desktop icon preferences.

I've never had a problem with ~/Library not being visible in any of my CCC clones.
I set the pref in my boot volume, and it's invariably perpetuated in my clones.
I can't imagine why you're not seeing the same thing.

My experience is the same as Artie's: no problem. I use Carbon Copy Cloner. Which cloning app do you use?

If you have SD set to do a Smart Backup, it will only copy changes made to your internal since the last clone. If you do a full backup, everything is overwritten. Smart Backup is by far the fastest and easiest way to do this. In either case, I don't see why your user Library isn't duplicated in the clone. Have you contacted David Nanian, the developer of SD? In my experience, he has been very helpful.
