In the past, upgrading a Mac Pro or G4 or G5 was a straightforward process. The new Mac Pro, however, makes adding internal storage very convoluted. Read Mac Pro woes, 'iPhone 12' delays, and Apple's passport ambitions, on the AppleInsider podcast and watch the video. I have no need for a Mac Pro and I would have second thoughts about even buying one.

I would have a LOT of thoughts about buying a Mac Pro. The cost alone is more than daunting. However, if I were doing the kind of work the Mac Pro is intended for my only real hesitation would be, could I wait as much as two years for a Mac Pro with Apple SoC instead of Intel inside. With Apple products, complexity is unexpected, but with the customization and options expected at the Mac Pro level, it is inevitable.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
