It is astounding that politicians can put the furtherance of political goals ahead of the lives of citizens.

On the verge of “opening Florida” President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis met at the Whitehouse and told reporters that Florida has a relatively low Covid-19 infection rate, compared to what many experts predicted for the state. DeSantis, who is a strong Trump ally, said: “Everyone in the media was saying Florida was going to be like New York or Italy and that has not happened.”

What neither DeSantis nor Trump told the reporters was that the state had forced medical examiners to stop releasing COVID 19 death data, when the medical examiners data showed a death rate 10% higher than the numbers released by the Florida Department of Health.

That incredible instruction was revealed by both the Tampa Bay Times and the Miami Herald.
