OS 10.12.6

TTP 9.5.3. I am in the process of using data recovery trying to recover a 2 minute video clip. I click "show trash History" file is there so I highlighted it.

Then to system prefs and notifications> Highlight "Do not disturb" from 10:00pm to 7:00am. Click both "when display is sleeping" and "when mirroring to TVs and projectors" It then says show and hide Notification Centre by clicking it's icon in the menu bar. I see that under View, notifications has a tick next to it.

Where do I go from there?

I have never tried to recover data before so I need help.

I contacted micromat and they explained the procedure which turned out to be unsuccessful.
