Safari is giving me so many problems loading up websites. I immedidately get this error message (see screen shot) or a shorter message stating Safari cannot open specified address. When I can't load a website, I go to Firefox and have no problem. Yes, I have ad blockers, etc., but I also have them on Firefox. This is a new problem over the past few weeks. Any ideas? This is the only way I could figure out how to put this screen shot in. See below. Thanks. Imgur

Hi, Rita. First, your Imgur link is a dead end... To post a screenshot... - Go to https://imgur.com/upload.
- Either drag your screenshot into the window or browse for it.
- Click on "Copy" or "Hidden" in the next window to copy your screenshot's URL to your clipboard.
- Create a link using FTM's "Create a link..." tags...2nd icon from the left.
Hmmm... I wonder if you're experiencing the same thing that's been plaguing me, also for a few weeks, i.e. this? I've seen it almost exclusively at eBay, but regardless, simply hitting command-R to reload has invariably worked on the first try. (I'm running Safari Version 12.1.2 (14607.3.9).)

I have occasionally encountered the same error message in Safari 13.1 and as you said a refresh clears it immediately. Several years ago (OS X 10.3 or 10.4?) there was a Safari problem due to timing out too fast thus creating errors. That was long since fixed but I have to wonder if this is not a version of the old problem, but reported differently due to literally years of changes to Safari's internals and error handling. ( NOTE: I very occasionally get a similar message as a result of a URL being blocked by my router's security features, but IIRC those are specifically identified as being blocked by the router.)
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

Hi Artie: Before I sent my post, I checked the Imgur link in my post and it went right to the correct screen shot. I did use the copy feature.
The message you get I get too, but mostly I get the one I posted that you can't get to. It's a very long paragraph. I never get it with eBay but with a lot of other sites. So aggravating. Thank goodness I can just go to the develop menu and open it with Firefox. Refreshing doesn't help in my case.

Your Imgur link is <url=https://imgur.com/undefined> which is obviously non-functional; a correct Imgur link looks like this: <url=https://imgur.com/hdTXcJA>
Even knowing that command-R doesn't work for you, I'd still like to see your error message.

Got it, Rita.
All the way down at the bottom it says "The error is: 'The URL was blocked by a content blocker.'" Have you installed any new ones or tweaked any old ones lately?

No new content blockers, but I just disabled all my extensions and I could get into Imgur. Some sites say they can see a content blocker and ask that I disable it. Others don't. It's just Safari that lets me know and I can't get in. It looks like more and more sites won't let us on with content blockers even though they don't always say so. It's funny that I can get in via Firefox though. I need to check when I get a chance and see what blockers I have on Safari that I don't have on Firefox and find the culprit that way maybe. Phooey! Got it, Rita.

I don't recall ever running into an error message such as yours. I use Safari exclusively, and any time I can't get into a site because of AdBlock I get a pop-up from the site itself (at which point I reevaluate how badly I actually want to get into the site).

You asked if I had any new extensions. I do but I have disabled most of the blockers because of this problem. But I still have Wipr and Porn Block activated. Maybe it's Wipr? Ghostery, adblock plus, etc., are all disabled and I still get the problem. I don't have the Wipr or porn block (that shouldn't be it) on Firefox. So maybe it's narrowed down to those two. Let's see.... On wow, guess what? When I disabled porn block, I was able to get onto Imgur!!! LOL! Some sites say they can see a content blocker and ask that I disable it. Others don't. Right. I think I will not use the porn block. I've never reallly had a problem running into it anyway. On wow, guess what? When I disabled porn block, I was able to get onto Imgur!!! LOL! Hah! Imgur = porn is a bit of a stretch, but at least you've got it figured out.
