This MacRumors article highlights one more reason I avoid all things Google. Not the fact the lawsuit was turned down but the reason for the lawsuit in the first place.

Good personal policy. It's laughable that, in the U.S., Google was caught deliberately circumventing privacy protections and then argued that the tracking was unintentional. Tilt.

How about the latest Google announcement that under the threat of congressional investigation they have decided to discontinue selling application developers the right to scan Google mail messages to extract apparently whatever information they wanted. YIPE! shocked
