Mojave not yet “pushed” to wife’s newish iMac

My wife’s iMac, about 6 months old, has yet to receive the App Store notice that Mojave is available.

I find that a bit unusual. But is it? Any reason for concern? confused

She'll never get an App Store notice, Harv.

Mojave is an upGRADE rather than an upDATE, and the App Store notifies you of only the latter.

Now I'm not sure if I would rather the suffer the agony of ignorance or the angst of working on my beloved's machine.

In either case, My many thanks!

I just upgraded my wife's Mac mini to Mojave this morning and so far there have been no complaints. The upgrade was remarkably problem free and that includes no, "…but why did they change that…" remarks from the distaff side.

Other than the INSANE slowdowns and beach-balling I experienced the first time I was booted into Mojave (which were cured by a shut down/restart) my upgrade was also effortless.

Give yourself a pat on the back for having helped to make it happen that way. smile

Oh, one weirdness... Mojave launched while Installer was telling me that I still had 17 (yeah, seventeen) minutes to go. Those timers have never been particularly accurate, but that was ridiculous. crazy

In great part, thanks to you guys and your behind the scenes homework, my installation of Mojave has been without consequence. No doubt, I’ll find stuff or not find what I’m looking for, and “gotchas” may develop, but the learning curve seems in line with other major changes. Or maybe even less steep than previous OS installs.

Kudos to you both. 😀

cool

I'm happy to hear that your installation went well.

I"ve never before upgraded my OS before the release of at least the x.1 update, but this time I banked on joemike and his cohorts in beta testing and did it on, literally, the first day, and I haven't looked back.

Kudos to Apple for getting things so right on the first (official, anyhow) try!
