APFS has slowed EasyFind down to a crawl, such that a search that takes it 75 seconds is completed by FindAnyFile in less than 10.

I emailed them about a bug several years ago and got an almost identical response, and it still hasn't been updated.

I guess I'll go the $6 for FAF although I don't like its Spotlight-style GUI in the least.

Correction: That's 135 seconds for EF to complete the same search FAF completes in about 5 seconds.

That suggests that "fast search" is available on non-APFS volumes, and I'm curious whether EasyFind supports it, because its non-APFS version is sooo much slower than FF's APFS version.

It might be illuminating if someone who's still non-APFS (I haven't got a volume on which to experiment.) ran EF and FAF side by side with a view towards determining if EF is even more behind the times than has been made readily evident by my APFS upgrade.

I fully understand that being freeware, EF is Devon's orphan-child, but I'm wondering if they've been perpetuating an inferior product.
