Looking through 'All my Files' I see several hundred outdated XML files created 2011 2012. Most of them have to do with adobe elements organizer.
I do have photoshop elements 10.

Is it safe to trash them?

Old does not necessarily mean outdated. When were they last modified? If it's been a year or two since any software "touched" them, probably safe to delete.

Then again, who knows what PS Elements 10 needs to operate? smirk

On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

Many computer headaches have their root in a user "cleaning things up" either by deleting things they don't think are needed anymore or by moving/renaming something to appear more organized but that was being relied on by something else.

And that's why (home)/Library is now hidden by default! Too many people mucking up their photo or music libraries mainly, by getting in there and "organizing things"

(I believe Spotlight also skips hidden folders?)

If you don't have to touch it, leave it be.

That's one of the things I like about "CleanApp", which I use to remove unused applications. CleanApp checks off the items recommended for removal and, if I check something else, it cautions that I can do that but I'm likely to mess up an app that shares the item. I always heed the advice.

Good advice. I must confess to being guilty myself in the past.

Which is precisely why I greatly prefer and trust CleanApp over any other general purpose "uninstaller" app I have found.
