is it just me or have the number of new threads per day dropped greatly in the last week or so?

Yeah, but it's not just here. MacNN, ArsTechnica, and even the mighty macosxhints are much less congested than normal. [i view that as a plus... because it seems to indicate Mac OS is indeed relatively problem-free.]
Or maybe economical conditions are part of the equation. [and it's not just the last week i've noticed this... more like the last month.]
