Can we assume that from now on, every time you see a Smartphone, you're going to smash it with a sabot? smile

You betcha!

Actually not. I prefer to witness their users over the long term turning into drooling dements ... the true zombie apocalypse.

And what about Fire and Smoke?

The zombie apocalypse is actually a good analogy. CBS 60 Minutes recently did a piece describing how smartphone apps are written to generate chemical responses in the brain (rewards) that, in turn, generate compulsive use.

For me, the scary part is not the number of adults who seem to be so addicted. After all, they are grown up and should be able to make rational decisions about usage based on the knowledge "Hey, this isn't normal".

I am frightened and dismayed by the fact that we have children being sucked into this vortex who don't know that their smartphone addiction is not normal. In my mind, they are victims of corporate greed.

PS: If you get a chance to view the 60 Minutes piece, do so.
