Nope. He's definitely "a taco shy of a combination plate".

Given more recent events — just check out the slew of editorials in The New York Times, for example — the presidential epithet, Señor Hitler, seems to well and truly hit the spot.

Let the pogroms begin! mad tongue Oh, wait ... they already have.

If this doesn't advance the Doomsday clock to 15 seconds before midnight ...

Proposal Would Widen Permissible Use of Nuclear Arms

A newly drafted US nuclear strategy that has been sent to President Trump for approval would expand “extreme circumstances” for nuclear retaliation to include a crippling cyberattack.

I don't think many younger people realize the full consequences of a nuclear war.

I was in Hiroshima the following April after the bomb was dropped and the big problem is that you just can't go in and retieve the dead and dying because at that particular time in history, it was several weeks before anyone could enter although the Japanese didn't realize the catatrosphic effects of radiation.

And that was the smallest atomic bomb that could be made.

Imagine what a hydrogen bomb would do. I like many, are very concerned about the flippant attitude of Trump whose ignorance could kill millions of people, and they would mostly be South Koreans.

He is indeed a loose canon. Food for thought.

Although the short term "friendly fire" deaths might be mostly South Koreans, they could end up being considered the lucky ones. The prevailing "westerlies" would inevitably distribute the fallout across the Pacific to the Japanese islands and the North American continent contaminating the air, water, soil, and food supplies. That could potentially result in the population of our entire continent suffering the ravages of radiation sickness for generations. Victory in a nuclear war is almost by definition pyrrhic.

But then the "stable genius" and his retinue might count a Pyrrhic victory as a win.

Ya know, a scenario on the order of the premise of Designated Survivor might be the singular salvation of the great democratic experiment. tongue crazy

(I'd sure vote for Kiefer Sutherland for president, as long as he guaranteed that his cabinet would consist of his writing staff.)

Mr. Trump seems to think that lies about height are also useful if you don't want the public to know that you're obese.

Contrary to the way the rest of us are aging (getting shorter as the years pass) the President, according to his doctor, is getting taller. He used to be 6'2" but now he's 6'3" and weighs 239 pounds.

It turns out that 6'2" and 239 pounds translates into a Body Mass Index rating of obese, but 6'3" does not. Har har har. Does the Combover-In-Chief actually think he's fooling anyone?

I have come to a point where I have to disagree with this. The Trump uses tweets like a rapier to distract, confuse, and confound his friends as well as his opposition. In a face to face conversation, not officially on the record, he says one thing; then uses tweets to create the conflict and dissension he thrives on. One very thoughtful commentator has said, "We have had 44 presidents who, regardless of their political views, came into office determined to do what was best for the United States and its citizens. Mr Trump came into office determined to do what was best for Donald Trump and his personal finances." He went on to point out that in spite of Trump's supposed disassociation with Trump Enterprises, he receives daily, if not more frequent, reports from family members with White House access on the previous days business activities. Unfortunately there is no law requiring a president to place their finances in a blind trust but in respect for tradition and the people of the United States Trump's 44 predecessors all did so. In his international dealings Trump has negotiated with countries like Malaysia to set aside highly profitable concessions for Trump businesses potentially worth hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars.

The President’s Unparalleled War on Law Enforcement

President Trump’s assault on the nation’s law enforcement apparatus is unlike anything America has seen in modern times.
It has raised fears that Mr Trump is tearing at the credibility of some of the country’s most important institutions to save himself.

The Memo Provides More Proof of Obstruction

We are seeing more signs of the president’s corrupt intent.

This is supposedly a historical Trump tweet from 2015-02-25 12:27 — proffered by Bill Maher:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
If the Dow Joans [sic] ever falls more than 1000 "points" in a Single Day the sitting president should be "loaded" into a very big cannon and Shot into the sun at TREMENDOUS SPEED! No Excuses!

GOP Squirms as Trump Veers Off Script With Abuse Remarks

Tax cuts and economic growth appear to be improving the party’s political position, but President Trump can’t stop antagonizing voters, especially women.

He appeared to ignore victims of sexual abuse and express doubts about the #MeToo movement, saying, “lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation.”

Racist Trump probably meant to say "white lives are being shattered......." because he wouldn't care if a destroyed life was that of a black person, even if overwhelming evidence proved their innocence. Just ask The Central Park Five.

This is very poignant this week as the Groper-In-Chief defends his White House wife beaters with tweets about due process - followed by spokesperson Sarah Sanders bleating about how much the President believes in it.

Huh. This is the same guy who rushed to judgment and took out full page ads in 1989 demanding that young boys, later proved innocent, be given the death penalty. I guess Trump and Sanders really mean there should be due process for white guys in the White House.

I find it interesting that Trump, who boasted during the campaign that "it just makes me smart" when confronted with the fact that he has evaded taxes for 20 years, is now busy attacking Jeff Bezos and Amazon with fake facts about the need to pay one's fair share of taxes. For example, Trump wrongly tweets that Amazon pays zero when they actually pay about $1 billion per year.

I wonder if it because:

a) Trump is again using the presidency to take care of his own financial interests (he owns a lot of retail space that has been dropping in value very fast as Amazon beats his tenants in the retail game), or

b) he's ticked off that Bezos' personal wealth dwarfs his by nearly 40 times, or

c) both of the above.

The president has spent his whole career in the company of grifters, cons and crooks.

Ain't it the truth ...

Were he alive today, he'd likely crap himself and croak.

If you want to be truly frightened, read former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's recently published Fascism, a Warning. It left me wondering whether to take up protest signs, guns, or both to defend the Constitution of the United States and our democracy.

That may be but it appears that, even without contrition, white evangelicals forgive him. I guess they don't have TVs or read newspapers.

It seems that religious folk are as susceptible to hypocrisy as the rest of us (gasp!). After all, what does religion have to do with morality?

Good observations. It is my perspective that if a politician of any persuasion agrees with and maintains your personal beliefs on GIGA—guns, immigration, gays, abortion—whatever they may be, you will forgive her/him any other transgressions.

A common retort by supporters of the current administration is "we are moving in the right direction". I take that to mean where GIGA is concerned, and nothing else really matters or makes a difference.
