Do you think he's insightful enough to have run his own blood through a lab before making this latest preposterous accusation? Nope….but his handlers would have been.

You're giving Trump credit for foresight! I'll guess that his impetuosity and hair-trigger mouth make it unlikely that his handlers even knew he was contemplating it before they heard it from the media.

I don't have TV so I missed SNL's spoof of the debate, but look at Trump calls SNL spoof ‘hit job,’ calls for end of show and follow the link to the actual spoof. It's hilarious.

Not that I'm an Alec Baldwin fan under any circumstances, but I've got to agree with Trump that his portrayal of him did "stink".
I found the SNL segment so annoying, both the portrayals of Trump and Hillary and the grotesque (what I considered failed attempts at) "humor" (I won't even credit it with having qualified as farce!), that I closed the window after two or three minutes.
I'd love to see how Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner would have addressed the subject.

You're giving Trump credit for foresight! Nope. Absolutely not. I was giving his handlers credit for foresight. If I gave the impression that I think Trump is capable of foresight, allow me to make the record crystal clear: I don't believe Donald Trump is capable of anything even approaching rational thought.

Nope again. I'd only be contradicting myself if I was to presume that the idea originated with Trump. I don't presume so because: 1) there is no way to know for sure. 2) Trump has people among his handlers who are whacky enough to come up with such an absurd idea. Rudy Giuliani comes to mind. At any rate, your question was: Do you think he's insightful enough to have run his own blood through a lab before making this latest preposterous accusation? So, once again, allow me to make the record crystal clear: I don't believe Donald Trump is capable of anything even approaching rational thought.

I think it's so far-fetched and preposterous that nobody but he would have even considered floating it to rationalize his loss a full week after the debate.

It's just that it never occurred to me that you questioned that wild insinuation's origins, and I posted without ever having entertained the possibility that anyone other than Trump, himself, originated it; we were coming at each other from opposite directions.

The New York Times Election Forecast: Hillary Clinton has a 91% chance of winning. (See homepage at www.nytimes.com) The blue bar (with Clinton's name on the left) now extends into Trump's red bar on the right, such that it covers Tr, leaving only ump; previously, at 89%, it extended through the T, leaving rump. Pretty soon it'll likely cover everything but p (reflecting the soiling of the American process). It's probably best if everyone gets out there and votes for Señor Hitler. The sooner everyone bites the bullet, the sooner martial law and other Duterte-style societal benefits can be imposed, and joy will return to Mudville. As they say: Get with the pogrom! Ah, yes, the sweet, sweet smell of carnivore crap!

I wonder if there's a (I'll call it) Goldwater (because I don't remember the other guy's name) effect, i.e. people lying to pollsters because they're embarrassed to admit that they're going to vote for Trump, going on? And I also wonder if I should wonder "how big" rather than "if". I don't remember where I saw it, but it was a heartening 62.8% Democratic chance of carrying the Senate.

I believe you're referring to the Bradley effect.

I'm not certain whether I was referring to "Bradley" or "Wilder", but thanks for the link. Edit: I now remember that when I ran across the phenomenon it was referred to as the Wilder effect, although Bradley was mentioned, as was Goldwater.

I am not, and never have been, a conspiracy theorist but today's apparently pointless DDoS attacks on social media sites through DYN got me to thinking... What if today's series of DDoS attacks were a practice run of a plot to disrupt the United State's election? Today's electronic voting machines are notoriously insecure Voting Machines Are Scarily Easy Targets, By November Russian hackers could target voting machines, How To Hack an Election in 7 Minutes and returns from those voting machines too often rely on internet communications, Mr. Trump's oft repeated claimplaints of a rigged election may actually have some basis in fact. Although I would lay odds his assignment of blame is likely several thousand miles off target or he could be pointing his finger 180º in the wrong direction. With all the known weaknesses in the system it would be almost too easy to completely disrupt the voting process and throw this country into a potential constitutional crises or, given the predilections of some (many?) of Mr. Trump's true believers, even worse. This is one of the few times in my life I really really hope I am wrong. 😨
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

I hope you're wrong, too!
But if it's apparent that the process has been compromised, we could easily avoid a crisis with an extremely inconvenient but redeeming 100% hand recount.
This is somewhat off target but pertinent nonetheless...
Five or so years ago there was a very close state level election in my district, and the hand recount mirrored the electronic count of the vote.
Given the new-fangledness of electronic voting machines at the time, I found that very heartening, although by no means a given.

And, in case it's possible that anyone still doesn't understand why Donald trump should never have the power that goes with being the U.S. President.

I don't think it's ever been pointed out that New York Military Academy, of which Trump is a graduate, is little more than reform school for juvenile delinquents whose daddies are rich enough to keep them out of real reform school.

I am of two minds about the attacks on David French by racist D̛̞̞̟̼̘̦Ì͆̇Ì̇͘͡͞ǫ̤̹̣̺̫̖̃̔͒ÌÍ‚Í͗̕͢͞ń̛̛̖͉̲̜̗̎̀̊̇̄͘͟͞ă̧̛̱ÍÌ±Í“ÌŸÌ’Ì‹Í‹Ì‹Í›Ì•Í lÌ ÌÍ–ÌªÌ¦Ì ÌÌ©ÍÌ‘Ì€Ì͜͡d̘̖̤͎̙ÌÌ͊̉͡ T̵̨̜̤͖̱̂̾̈̈ÌÌ‡Í Í…r̡̘̱̫̻͇̰̳͙̣̈Ì͑̒̑̉̎Ì͒͘̚ų̵̧̤͎̳̋ÌÌ‹Ì€Í†Ì‹Ì†Í‹Ì•Í m̼͇̹Ì̤̯̹̓̾Ì͂̔̈͑ÌÌ•p̶̧̨̙̟͓͈͚̂̒Ì͗͘͞ supporters. On the one hand, nobody deserves the kind of abuse French and his family are being put through. It is absolutely vile and inexcusable. On the other hand, this abuse that French is saying "I've never experienced anything like this before" about is something that a lot of people, especially progressive women and most especially progressive women who don't subscribe to traditional views about sex and relationship, experience all the time...and conservatives like French just scoff and say things like "it's not that big a deal" and "freedom of speech!" I don't know why David French is surprised by the amount of hate he is being bombarded with. People on the left side of the political spectrum have been talking about this for years. It seems like prominent conservatives only understand it when it's directed at them, which to me speaks to an inability to listen to or empathize with other people. Ḋ̵̪͇̟̣̪̞̜̽̊̃̒̾̾͒Å̴̧̨͔̺̺͕̿ÌÌ͋̂͆̀̊͞ͅń͉̬͈̺͙̼̣͓͈̦͑͆Ì̇͘͡͡ã̶̯͇͉̫̰͕̦̹͛̽͊ÍÌ’Ì•Í¡l̟̗̙̱̦Ì̓̌̎͋͒Ì̈͘Íd̸̰ÌÌŸÌ ÌŸÌ”ÌˆÍ‹ÍŠÌ‹Í‘ÍŸÍ Å¤Ì¸Ì¨Í̱̥̳̂̿̑Ìŗ̸̧̡̗͙̬̜̪ÌÌŠÌÌ‹ÌÌ̉ÌÌ“ÍœÅ̸̞̫̜͇Ì̙͊̽̽͂m̙͔̪Í̻͓͋̆͂̒̑̓ÍÍžÍ pÌ ÌžÍ“Ì¬Ì£Ì®Í”Ì®ÍÌŠÌ̈ÌÌ͘͜ͅ has brought out the worst in American politics. Maybe this is what it will take to make "mainstream" conservatives finally begin to understand what they have created.
