Shame on the Times!

Interesting how the editorial mentions that the man's jaw dropped, but it, embarrassingly, has been edited out of the video.

All reporting is biased. Otherwise all news sources would just be stylistic variations on a theme. Just look at Fox News vs any other outlet. You just have to choose your "poison".

Speaking of Hitler, Mike Pence Hints at Trump’s Muslim Ban Extending to Other Religions Looks like Trump's running mate may be as bad as he. And, there is a rather strong implication that Trump's purported buddy, Vladimir Putin, may be trying to rig the election. Hack of Democrats’ Accounts Was Wider Than Believed, Officials Say.

Obama now? Didn't he once say that Hilary was the one that founded ISIS? Seems like he'll point that stick at anyone...

Donald Trump, Insisting He Won’t Change His Style, Repeats Claim Obama Founded ISIS. You aren't stupid if you make a mistake. You ARE stupid if you continue making the same mistake and expect a different result. Unfortunately, The Donald also appears to be insane (literally).

Yup…nuttier than a fruitcake.

The only thing I find as nutty as Trump is the continuing support he gets from senior Republicans with their comments like "Well, he won the nomination fair and square", and blah, blah, blah. I'm beginning to think they all need to go into the shop for a mental rebuild.

They're more concerned about their own fates if they don't support him than they are about America's possible fate if they do. frown

Their own and everybody else's fates are to turn into ash in a nuclear holocaust if the Wonder Chimpâ„¢ gets anywhere near the nuclear codes. The only survivors will be ants and cockroaches.

Oh, come now, that's hyperbole.

There are many species of bacteria and archaea that would survive, as would the weird life forms around deep-sea hydrothermal vents. It's entirely possible a number of plants might survive as well.

Granted. But grant me the poetic license. Just because it's "hypobole" (neologism for understatement) doesn't vitiate the central "theme".

Trump Risks Hitting Ceiling as Swing Voters Say, ‘Enough’
  • Instead of widening his appeal, Donald J. Trump continues to alienate certain groups, leaving him stagnant in the polls.
  • Loyal Republicans, anti-establishment independents, Clinton-averse Democrats and other potential voters are turning away from him.

Rah!

Let's count ourselves lucky that Trump is not as Macchiavellian as Hitler or Stalin. He wears his numerous character flaws on his sleeve and isn't sneaky enough to become a good manipulator. Of course, his die-hard followers don't care.

I can't believe that he is actually stupid (despite evidence to the contrary) but I do believe that his ego and insecurity make it impossible for him to slough off criticism. That's to the advantage of the US in this election. Donald Trump’s Other Campaign Foe: The ‘Lowest Form of Life’ News Media

Despite the fact that he is a complete political novice, Trump won't believe that anyone could possibly know more than him about politics. Real experts in the Republican party try to save him, and their party, by urging him to stay on message….but he ignores them and shoots off his mouth. I think that's stupid, really stupid.

Mr. Rove later told people he believed Mr. Trump was confused and scared in anticipation of the general election, according to people who have heard Mr. Rove’s account.

That struck a chord with me, because Trump's extraordinary concession that he may actually lose the election, its language in particular, had already gotten me wondering if he's scared of the Presidency and is (perhaps subconsciously) not actively trying to win the election...using "just continuing to be myself" as an excuse for (perhaps also subconsciously) actively trying to lose it.

This may be a rerun of "The Producers": he may have gotten into the campaign to promote his brand with the expectation of losing, and having won is hoist. (Has "Springtime for Señor Hitler" turned to winter?)

Maybe he's not all that stupid? confused
