Hello folks,
So Im fairly new at hard drives and when I went to install I accidentally made it compatable with macs and pcs. the problem with that is now i have just one partition labled "LACIE SHARE" that only allows up to 4 GB per file. I tried the "erase" button going into disk utilities but since Its map Scheme Is MASTER BOOT, it does not let me erase...SO, Now i need help repartitioning my whole drive): I Have no files to save or transfer on my drive yet so repartitioning would be ok but the question is how?? any comment helps!

In Disk Utility
  1. Select the drive itself not the volume on the drive. The drive will be listed above the volume and the volume will be idented below that.
  2. An icon will appear at the top of the Disk Utility window labeled Partition
  3. Click on Partition
  4. Select 1 partition
  5. Select GUID Partition Map
  6. Format: OS X Extended (Journaled)
  7. Click Apply

If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?
