Can I revert? I updated yesterday and now I have screen problems, it doesn't refresh properly, blocks of screen disappear, the battery ran down to zero while nothing was running.

I believe the answer to your question is "no" since I'm guessing you don't have a copy of the previous iOS and Apple does not make them available for iOS's.

However, I don't think your issues are related to 9.3 exclusively. It may have been a bad install. If you open iTunes and connect your iPad, you will have some installation options. Alas, I can't say what they will be (don't have the setup at the moment), but one should be fairly obvious, something like "Restore" or "Reset". It's worth a try.

I just saw your other post on another topic and you can't run your iPad on your laptop. So back to the Apple Store for another connection and installation??

Back from Apple Store. Reset ipad. So, it seems the ipads have the same issue that is pending class action with the iPhones, they told me the new system doesn't run as well on older ipads and offered me $75 for mine:

New system slows down older devices:

Battery issues:

I can get an iPad 2 new in box for a good price. Might be worth replacing this one and not updating, might be compatible with OS10.7 on my MacBook Pro and save many headaches. Comments?

What you decide to do could depend on what the primary activities are (will be) on your iPad. What do you use it for?

Well, I use it to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime movies and tv. Internet browsing, and the camera to email pics.

I was thinking if I buy the NIB ipad 3 that I saw on eBay I can't really go backwards and get the right apps. So, the only thing I could think of doing is buying a refurbished ipad air, hopefully it doesn't have the latest update, which is a problem but then again it may not be a problem on the Air 1. They said each update slows the older devices down.

Internet "stuff" (which includes Netflix and Prime) is the activity of yours where you will take the biggest hit with an older version of iOS.

You will not gain security updates and at some point a site may require close to the newest version of a browser to present its content. Browser and security updates come with the iOS updates.

Tough call. Maybe check that you can return whatever you buy and then you can hunt around for the right combination of hardware and software. I am curious to know how it works out for you. smirk

It's so annoying that the update reminders keep popping up. It was coming up in the middle of a movie!

I ordered a refurb ipad air. NOT updating the OS unless shoved, not just pestered, into doing it.

I think I alluded to that in a post in another thread earlier today, something about "dragged, kicking and screaming if necessary" wink

There has GOT to be a hack to turn off that update window. It comes up in the middle of movies and stops them. I need to disable it.

iirc you can turn off the service that displays alerts in general, but it has some collateral damage to it. appleeventsd I think is the daemon responsible. it's been awhile since I read about that, but I believe at the time I was looking for the same fix as you are.

If you open activity monitor and search all processes for "eventsd" you should find several hits. One of them pops that event notice.
