Yahoo Messenger Questions

I'm getting ready to pull my hair out because I can't find the answers to what I feel are simple questions.

I have Yahoo Messenger 3.0 Beta. I am required to have Yahoo IM for a possible new job. I am very unfamiliar with Yahoo IM and have a couple of questions.

My prospective employer said they want me to put my time zone in front of my Yahoo name. Not wanting to appear stupid to a prospective employer, I thought I'd ask you guys.

1. By my Yahoo name, are they referring to my Screen name?
2. Is the name I signed up with my screen name or my Yahoo ID?
The name I have on the messenger itself is the first part of a Yahoo mail address I have. My poor memory won't let me remember if I picked that as a name or it is a default name from my Yahoo mail ID.
3. I read where I can make screen names for myself by going into my contacts and just picking my names and submitting without even filling out the boxes.
Is that true?

I may have more questions when you answer this, but that's enough for now as I've probably confused the heck out of you.

Looking forward to hearing from someone who knows confused

Rita

Your Yahoo name is your screen name. When you run Yahoo Instant Messenger, it's the name you sign in with and that other people see when they talk to you.

Thank you.

So, how do I had extra screen names for myself? Do I have to sign up with yahoo messenger again with another account?

I'm being asked to use a different screen name than the one I have, so I need to know how to do this.

Also, can you point me in the direction of where this info is in writing? I didn't get all the above questions answered.

Thanks.

Rita

Hello, Rita

When your time allows, would you post the information which answered your Yahoo Messenger questions? The results of your work would be valuable to other readers who need help with this topic.

Back up everything you can't afford to lose: documents, mail, movies, music, photos, and other data and settings.

Sure. laugh

I found out the Yahoo Messanger ID and Screen Name are the same (which tacit had mentioned).

In order to get another screen name, you have to sign into Yahoo Messenger and click on "Create Yahoo ID." Then you just fill in the blanks using your new screen name. It also gives you another Yahoo email account whether you want one or not. LOL!!

I never saw the Create Yahoo ID section because I was always logged in automatically. I had to sign out so I could sign back in and then I was given that option.

Hope that helps.
