I personally don't care either way. If you typo a url, and it takes you to a phishing site, there's probably some trademark infringement going on there at the very least. (most sites nowadays have a "copyright 2016, xyz inc" at the bottom) So it's already breaking the law.
I don't see it as any different than say, buying a iPhome off eBay and wondering why it won't work with iTunes. Pay attention
A year or two ago there was a bigger brouhaha over unicode being used to sneak urls through, using characters that LOOKED similar to (or occasionally identical to) the ones they were expected to be. I'm not sure how they dealt with that.
