I just got back from being on the road for nine weeks, the last six of which were in Europe.
When I got to the UK, my iPhone suddenly started doing this weird thing where it required me to activate it over and over again, every two hours, as I talked about here:
http://www.finetunedmac.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=36473#Post36473When I left the UK, the problem disappeared for the remainder of my time in Europe. However, since returning home, it's now gone on to a new and weirder problem: every time I restart it, it freezes for about ten minutes trying to connect to a wireless signal the first time I connect to WiFi. Then everything is good, and the freezing no longer happens if I switch WiFi networks, until I restart it again.
So, thinking it was time to do a backup and wipe, I've tried to back it up with iTunes, but it causes iTunes to kernel panic when it hits step 2 (backing up iPhone). I'm running Yosemite and the latest version of iTunes, and iOS 9.1 on the phone.
So I can't wipe and restore because I can't back it up, and the problem where it freezes for ten minutes after it's restarted is annoying. Before I bring it in to Apple, does anyone have any ideas? Anyone seen anything like this before?
