Hi
All of sudden, any trial to open a word document ends up by opening the recently opened 4 or 5 documents and the problem is that they open in the upper left corner of the screen in a zoom and could never be dragged down the screen
the same even if I tried to start the word application with selecting any document
Thx

Welcome to the fray.

• First off, what OS are you using?
• Any changes made to your set-up prior to the problem you describe?
• Is your version of Word 2011 up to date? It should be version 14.5.2 (release date: June 10).
• Did you restart your Mac to see if that might resolve the issue? Or at least relaunch Finder (via Force Quit)?

I tried to restart my Mac several times, nothing
I have not made any any changes prior to this, My mac was just connected via VGA connector to a data show for power point presentation then after I tried to manage word documents, all start

You didn't mention whether your Office for Mac 2011 has been updated to 14.5.2 (release date: June 10).

Assuming that you have backed up your system (preferably via Time Machine), it might be a reasonable idea to restore your system and files (via Recovery HD) to a time when the application was working properly.

Short of that, you'll likely have to wait for the real gurus of FTM to enter the discussion.

Hi, and welcome to FineTunedMac. smile

I can't speak to your specific problem, but in the past, the procedure recommended by FineTunedMac responders for dealing with MS Word problems has been to uninstall and reinstall Word.

Hope this helps.

You might start with the Word preference file first: User/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Word.prefs.plist

Move the file to the Desktop, then relaunch Word. If the problem isn't sorted, you can move the original plist back and try more drastic measures, as suggested.

As for the issue of newly created Word documents zipping to the upper left corner of the screen, that's a problem I've had ever since I started with OS X (Lion); it extends to newly created PDF files too. Very annoying.
On the other hand, once moved elsewhere (on Desktop or another folder), that behavior is "silenced".
No one at Apple or in these forums or elsewhere has an explanation for the behavior, much less a solution to it.
C'est la vie. I just tolerate it and move on.
