... but new to this forum. I thought I should at least drop in and say "Hi!". I've been so busy, I regret I haven't had time for much so I haven't gone over the place as well as I'd like to. But I will... Looks like a nice board!

Thanks for the welcomes! I will do some browsing and my MacBook Pro 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo is having "issues" that I might have to ask about although I think it will be a trip to the techie.
But in the meantime if anyone knows of a thread here regarding the battery in these things not charging, especially after the last firmware update... please point me to it. I'd be grateful.

Thanks for the references folks... I'm not sure what it is. I don't THINK calibration is an issue but thanks for the link to the thread because my machine does fall into the "mostly used with the power Adapter" category. It just "stopped" charging however... period. The green/orange light doesn't even come on the Adapter. This happen once before 2 months into ownership on this machine and it was the internal component at that time. Good thing is I still have til next April for warranty. Now here we go again... I have not tried totally draining the battery, it's doing so slowly on it's own anyway... 24% right now. I need the thing right now mightily so I don't know if doing that would help or make it worse, as far as any attempt at calibration... I need to either charge it or drain it and let it sleep I believe I read for at least 5 hours. Tried to reset SMC according to instructions... no joy. Thank you again for putting me on track though... I have more links to follow and if needed I'll post back in the proper forum!

Dreambird, Thanks for the addendum which might help others. Seems that battery thread was closed so . . . . I am wondering if "that battery thread" is the link named this thread in post #3133 above? If so, then I just wanted to let you know that Apple Battery Advisory! is part of a discussion process FineTunedMac is using to develop a new forum named "Frequently Asked Questions" as opposed to a troubleshooting forum for sorting through a member's problem. As your time allows, let us know how your MacBook Pro battery issues go for you.
Back up everything you can't afford to lose: documents, mail, movies, music, photos, and other data and settings.
