Problem With Notification Center, Editing

Before I began using Google & Apple maps, I had a Garmin GPS.
To update the maps, I used the app: Garmin Express. That has now been deleted. Searching (including invisibles) both Sherlock and Easy Find indicate all traces of Garmin have been removed.
But in System Preferences> Notifications/Not In Notification Center, the Garmin Express Service is still shown.
I have hunted about and can find no way to delete/remove that critter. I know it causes no harm, but I would like it gone.
What am I missing? Is there a way to be rid of it?
TIA

Have you tried moving it above the line from "Not in..." to "In"? Maybe the move will pop up a dialog box.

I'm not going to suggest a reset, but I'll ask if this could possibly be a LaunchServices Database issue?

You beat me to it Artie! I had a similar situation with a deleted app and rebuilding the Launch Services Database fixed it.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

Curses! I went the Rebuild Database routine, but joy eludes me.
I keep thinking that were I to find the file, the rest would be easy. Sadly, that too, just ain't easy. Grrrrr!

Probably a needless question, but I'll ask if you restarted afterwards? (I don't know if it's at all pertinent, but the command I've run in a coupl'a versions of OS X to get rid of the Spotlight icon, which used to require no more than a SystemUIServer relaunch, requires a restart in Yosemite.)

Yes. I did a full shutdown and then restarted. A sound idea, but still no joy. 😪

A deep cache clearing, perhaps? (And when you're finished with my straw, I could use it for my malted. )

I ran the Onyx Maintenance routine and Safe Booted without success. What absolutely amazes me is that neither Spotlight or EasyFind can locate the Garmin file. How can something be on my machine without it having a file location?

If I were to guess at what is going on, I would say that the Garmin file is indeed gone, but Notifications is hanging on to some preference or setting, independent of the file's presence.
If the preference is set to no notifications and there is no file, from the perspective of the Notification Center, everything is OK.
Maybe look for a Notifications preference-type file?

Maybe look for a Notifications preference-type file? My hunt for a "Notifications" file or plist was unsuccessful. Surely others have had this problem and divined a solution, but I struck out with that as well. Frustrating and frustratinger...

I had a different problem this morning and rather than mucking about, decided to restore from a clone/backup. After that was done, I ran DiskWarrior as is my norm, and then rebooted back to my primary drive. That cursed Garmin is now totally gone from Notifications. But what & how that magic happened is beyond me (though I suspect it was DW that resolved the issue). Still, my many thanks to all for the fine suggestions and hand holding.
