I've done what I can, but Expedia (whom I have never contacted in any way whatsoever, ever) have apparently sent us a sales email which now seems to be trapped into an endless spiral.

Earlier today I black-listed the precise email address on all our email addresses, then blacklisted their entire domain.

Yet every time I Get Mail, there they are again, dozens of them, with increasingly long headers such as:

From: travel@customercare.expedia.com
Subject: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Your email requires verification - Case ID : [REQ:M-4933303]

How to get out of this craziness? Stupid emails requesting verification are bouncing backwards and forwards endlessly and all reporting to me. Will this go on for ever, or only until either their server or mine gives up?

Yes, I know. It's not TEOTWAWKI, but is extremely irritating when I've done my best at this end.

Have you tried scrolling to the bottom of one of those e-mails to see if there's an opt-out link?

I have "raised a ticket" with my ISP, asking for help. Seven more arrived in the interim.

Got me beat, but it looks like there's a problem on Expedia's end, so I'll wonder, not the least bit optimistically, whether contacting them may be helpful.

Wow, that's obnoxious. I can't explain why they're still coming in if you've blacklisted that address.

You could use Mail to create a rule that if the sender contains expedia.com, take the action "delete email" and see what that does.

It stopped. Overnight. Just as suddenly as it started.

I never heard back from my ISP about it, but I'm not surprised.

sounds like an auto reply loop

I got to observe the hilarity when my manager set an auto reply rule before going on a week's vacation.... and one of the other managers elsewhere in the parent company did same... and then right before he walked out the door, sent an email to the other managers notifying them of his vacation...

coooooomedy.

Result? Our ISP banned our IP address from sending email until I shut off his computer and apologized.
