I'm roundly insulted, as should be the rest of the FTM community; that was so obvious that you've belittled us by having felt the need to define it. grin

Edit: But Happy Birthday, all the same! smile

I wonder if they're up for a July birthday. All the best, and remember, age is just a state of mind....although your body may argue the point.

Mazel tov!

All I got for my birthday was (another) war ... or at least a no-fly zone.
The last "joyful" gift was the Iraq War, Part II. Feh.
A pox on all their houses! (Whatever that means.)

Thank you, Dianne. I just turned 66 and received a wonderful present, although it is sad at the same time. My mother (96) is in a nursing home and I had to sell her Florida condo. The market is almost as dead as many Florida residents but I had an offer only two weeks after posting on the realtor's site. We came to an agreement and closed yesterday, March 23. It's not fun to take care of a property from a distance of > 1000 miles and have to pay taxes, maintenance, etc. Now, all I have to do is worry about Mom.

Likewise (happy b'day to you, tacit)! While on the topic, and given your house-painting party last year, you wouldn't by any chance have branched out in this field by consulting on the painting of the Westboro Equality House, would you? laugh

PS, Jon is about to hit 67, right?

68. I suppose that, as a violinist and intellectual descendant of Jack Benny, I should be 39 and holding...

The news last night had an item about the second oldest person in Canada....a completely lucid and bright-eyed 114 year old woman. It turns out, she eats an Oh Henry chocolate bar every day.

I have decided how I would like to die. I want to live to the age of 97 and be shot... by a jealous husband. grin

Please be specific... Do you mean the jealous husband of a 25 or 95 year old woman?

Preferably the husband of a 25-year-old but, either way, it's a classy way to go.

Thank you! Had a lovely birthday party filled with friends and fun, but ended up with a nasty head cold today, so I'm sick in bed. Ah, life...

I haven't been here much lately, but just looked in and caught this thread. The new zealand government is now paying me an old age pension. I feel such a fraud!

Don't. All those years of paying taxes are coming back to you. Consider it an investment paying off.

In the UK, OAP's are currently the most hated group after bankers and politicians. Pensions (I'm drawing two state pensions) free travel, winter fuel allowance (as we're home all day, instead of in a warm office)... while it lasts.

As the Tory's austerity measures kick in, there is more and more pressure for us grey freetards to suffer along with everybody else. So enjoy it while it lasts!

Suckers! smile

I think that hatred is beyond your borders. There seems to be a universal belief among the young that the "baby boomers" are to be reviled. I've run across on-line conversations that contain extraordinarily venomous rhetoric.
