I have never experienced such. Indeed I am most confused and do not have a clue as to how to resolve this issue. No matter what image I select, even stock Apple images, I get the image detail in the center of the picture. [img] http://postimage.org/image/3tg4tkqxb/[/img] All suggestions most welcome.

What a dope (reply not required).
I just remembered that in MacPilot, I had recently enabled a new feature: "Show path to current desktop picture on desktop".
It may take some creative thinking, but I'm (still) trying how to blame my wife for this lunacy…

That is a problem with MacPilot, you don't always fully comprehend what a given option might do and whether or not there can be collateral issues. Forgetting you have customized something using preferences that are unavailable to users without MacPilot is another problem — especially when trying to troubleshoot another machine.
