Hi:

Recently static.ak.facebook.com appears when moving from website to website regarding authorized/unauthorized certificates. Very annoying. mad Is there anything that can be done to (safely) stop this pop-up and, if so, what steps should be taken . . . besides throwing away the computer, that is?

(i.e. iMAC PPC G5 using OS X Leopard and Safari 5.0.6)

P.S. I know this is an OLD dinosaur (from 2006 or 2007), but thought I would see if anything could be done. blush

Thanks, Folks.

I assume the problem will fix itself soon enough. (That is, whoever is responsible will realize they need to update their certificate. Or pull the ad or whatever it is.)

In the meantime, I'm just clicking "Cancel" each time the dialog pops up. I don't see any deleterious effects.

I've been seeing the same thing. It seems to happen when a site attempts to load content (such as a "Like" button) from Facebook or otherwise use the Facebook API. It appears that someone slipped up and forgot to renew one of Facebook's many security certificates.
