OS 10.5.8 Recently I was surfing and a small window appeared requesting permission to store information on my computer. This is in regard to Adobe Flash Player Settings giving a choice of allow or deny. Is this possibly a virus? Has anyone else seen this request? jaybass

There are three local storage settings in Flash player - Allow sites to save information on this computer (the default)
- Ask me before allowing new sites to save information on this computer
- Block all sites from storing information on this computer
It would appear you have option 2 selected in System Preferences > Flash Player.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

No, this is not a virus.
Web sites can store information in Flash objects. This is a bit like storing information in a cookie. Newer versions of Flash pPlayer ask for your permission before allowing a site to store these Flash objects by default, that's all.
