 Can't print Illustrator files

I am trying to find help with a problem I have with my printer. It prints everything just fine except illustrator files. Can't figure out what's up. Can you offer any advice? Chris Edit: This post was originally a reply to Re: Printer Idle or Unavailable.

Consternation. All of the above provide little, if any, context, such as make, model, etc of the printers, whether or not OS X updstes have been applied, and if the latter also required new drivers (which possibly Apple didn't provide and therefore need to be acquired from the printer manufacturer).
Similar issues occurred when my sister updated her OS X to 10.6 and were resolved by a quick electronic trip to Canon's download site for the new driver, which resolved the problem.

Can you offer any advice?Chris Once, I had a problem printing PDFs from Adobe Reader. I repaired printer permissions with Print Therapy and that did the trick. EDIT: Software Update will tell you if there are any new printer drivers for your printer(s) from Apple. Follow grelber's suggestion as well.

Once, I had a problem printing PDFs from Adobe Reader. I repaired printer permissions with Print Therapy and that did the trick. Add to that info that Adobe has a whole whack of updates for its Creative Suite 5.5 and especially for Acrobat X (to version 10.1.1).

I have no experience with Lion, but Chris doesn't state which OS version he is using. If it is 10.6 or earlier, there are suitable versions of Print Therapy available.
