Thunderbird – Addressbook

I just installed Thunderbird 7.0.1 on my new iMac* and would like to import my email Addressbook from Mozilla 1.0.1 (the precursor to Thunderbird in the guise of Mail & Newsgroups within the Mozilla browser used on an iMac running OS 9). There are several hundred (mostly collected) email addresses, so manual transfer would be a royal pain.
I was able to import my Bookmarks file (bookmarks.html) perfectly into Firefox 7.0, so I see no reason why I couldn’t do the same thing with the Addressbook. Unfortunately I can’t find anything in my Mozilla folder which jumps out as appropriate (mostly addressbook skins and such) and wherever it might be it should be a text file and have a file extension such as .txt, .tab, .csv; as noted I find nothing of the sort.
Any ideas?

[* For any/all voyeurs from Mac Desktops & Notebooks: Yes, I kept it.] That made me smile my biggest, so far, smile of the day! As for Thunderbird, though, other than it being "The Word," I know nothing about it.

grelber, For what it is worth, I am currently having trouble accessing a link titled "Moving address books between profiles - MozillaZine Knowledge Base" at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_address_books_between_profilesSome basic information can be found at Mozilla 1.5 FAQ: 5. Address Book. You might check what options are available to you under Tools in the Mozilla Address Book. I do not know what format Thunderbird uses for its Address Book and if, after exporting from Mozilla, you can import directly into Thunderbird.
Back up everything you can't afford to lose: documents, mail, movies, music, photos, and other data and settings.

This link worked fine for me just now. It must have been a temporary or local glitch. The information found at the site is pertinent to Grelber's question, and *should* take care of it. PS, I just fired up Mozilla (1.3.1) under Mac OS 9 and under the Tools menu of its Address Book there is an Export function with an .ldif option. ldif files can be imported by Thunderbird (Tools>Import). I didn't find any .mab files.

J a w o h l ! That article was right on the money. For what it's worth, all I had to do is grab the 2 relevant files (abook.mab [empty, so no harm, no foul] and history.mab), stick them on a thumbdrive, drop them onto my new Desktop, open the profile under Thunderbird and replace the resident ones with the 'new' ones. Sweet.
